Best drink in Vegas

This is Jose. And for my money, he makes the best drink in Vegas. His "Spanish Steppes Lemonade" packs a wallop for only $9.50, which is quite reasonable for Vegas, especially given what's in it. It's 24 ounces of equal parts Vodka, Gin, Tequila, Rum, Triple Sec, Blue Curacao, and frozen lemonade concentrate. It's basically like 8 shots in one drink. And it tastes good, too. You can find him outside Caesar's Palace, in a little hut that's outside on the Strip.

Mesa Grill

As may be obvious by the amount of blog entries involving food, I'm somewhat of a food freak. Our Thanksgiving trip to Vegas this year saw us eating at many upscale restaurants. We ate at Mario Batali's B&B Ristorante, Delmonico Steakhouse, Bouchon (twice!), and several others in the four days we were there. However, this Spicy Chicken and Sweet Potato Hash for brunch at Bobby Flay's Mesa Grill was probably my favorite dish of the weekend! Just as it sounds, it was a hash of sweet potatoes and chicken, over which was served poached eggs and a green chili hollandaise.

Portland

This is my car, parked in front of the Ambridge Event Center in Portland, OR. I was there this weekend for a Magic Pro Tour Qualifier for Pro Tour Kuala Lumpur. I like my Seahawks flag =)

Where else would you find food in Canada?

Me and my friend Carl travelled to Canada this weekend to play in a Magic Pro Tour Qualifier (a big tournament). Anyway, once we found the venue, we decided to try to find something to eat before the event started. Long story short, Canadians must not eat much. Where did we finally find food after driving around aimlessly for half an hour? Obviously at a hockey rink!
Side note - we saw multiple hockey rinks in the area. Only one had a deli.

Los Libros

My current living situation is such that space is at a premium. Ergo the contents of my bookshelf are limited. Still, quite an eclectic mix, ranging from religious titles such as "Evidence for Christianity" (no, I'm not Christian) to sexual health topics like "She Comes First".

Mexican Food FTW

Chicken Mole is quite possibly my favorite food. Mole sauce is a mexican sauce based on a blend of peppers and Mexican chocolate - though it's usually not sweet. It's hard to find good chicken mole around here. Mi Tierra in Woodinville is decent, but not great.

Sure, The White Cat looks docile enough... she is one of two cats remaining after today's Cat Crackdown in my backyard... Long story.

Yes, I get work done...

This is my desk at work, cluttered with all sorts of interesting knick-knacks. I used a Precor lunch box and some flashlights to make a miner's helmet for my monitor monster (who is also equipped with a treadmill heart rate transmitter, that I converted to a brainwave transmitter). Glass Mexican Coke bottle. Can of silk worm pupas. Check out the vintage Northgate Theater "Theater Occupancy 1290" sign.

The Blog Begins!

This psychedelic mural is painted on the side of our neighborhood Target store. It reminds me of Super Mario Bros.
